Moon by Simaudio Mind 180 Streamer

Before you purchase ANY standalone streamer under $1,000, talk to us about this incredible deal. The Mind 180 will trounce all other dedicated streaming components around the price point we are offering this unit. RETAIL: $990.

Able to host a wide variety of music sources, this dedicated streamer is a wonderful grab at this reduction.

The MOON 180 MiND Music Streamer is Simaudio’s latest addition to the MOON Series of audio
components, allowing you to stream digitally stored music to your audio system and playback via your
amplifier and speakers.
Much more than a product, this high end music streamer provides a simple and efficient way of accessing,
organizing, listening and enjoying your music, without compromise.
Uncompromised sonic performance
At initial launch your library can consist of music stored on your computer, a Network Attached Storage
(NAS) device or on any other Universal Plug and Play device with server software (e.g. Twonky) installed.
There is also access to internet radio using the embedded V-tuner. Digital music files in all common
formats are supported up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution, however a 16-bit/48kHz limit exists when streaming
wirelessly between the location of your digitally stored music and the MiND. MiND can stream music either
through a standard Ethernet connection or wirelessly, over a Wi-Fi network. Read on for further details
about multiple zone operation and unique features for existing MOON users.
Future firmware updates will be released very soon. These will include MOON's own server software, this
will unlock some really nice features including playlist storage for multi user access.
A jitter-free digital audio signal departs from the MiND streamer via any one of its three different digital
outputs (AES/EBU, S/PDif and TosLink) which is connected to a digital-to-analog-converter. Finally, if your
audio system uses a MOON Preamplifier or Integrated Amplifier equipped with SimLink™ capability, you
can control features such as input selection, volume and power on/off using the MiND control app.
From initial conversations with high end audio system users, the prospect of adding music streaming to
their existing set ups, without sonic compromise, seems to be something that has eluded them until now.
With MOON MiND, the functionality can be added to an existing set up without changing the base sonic
properties of that system. With all other music streamers currently available in the market, the customer
is also purchasing a manufacturer's take on how a DAC and an analogue output stage should also be
constructed. This in turn changes the sonic characteristics of the customer's system. With MiND’s clean
digital output, the DAC within the system sets the sonic properties.
An evolutionary step to organizing and accessing your digital music library
MiND allows you to organize the presentation of your music by virtually any means: musical genre, artist,
album, date, etc. The colorful and graphic visual interface makes use of the most popular devices on the
market: Apple’s iPod/iPad/iPhone, Android-powered device control will be added with a future update.
Once your music is organized to your liking, you can play tracks, entire albums or build a custom play
queue. MiND even allows for the use of multiple zones in your home, expanding the enjoyment of this
system to virtually every room in your home. You can even access more than one library at a time.
The concept of MiND is simple: the future of music playback lies in the intuitive organization of a library,
allowing for uncomplicated access to large collections of music that are managed with incredible ease-of-
use and efficiency. Sophisticated technology is required to achieve such simplicity and enjoyment. Other
music streaming devices exist in the marketplace, but none encompass all of these features, the simple
operation, whilst maintaining the uncompromised sonic performance provided by MiND technology.
MiND applications for Apple will do more than just manage your music. If the rest of your system is
comprised of MOON components equipped with SimLink™ capability, it is possible to control the input
selection on a preamplifier or integrated amplifier as well as volume up/down and power on/off. In other
words, for owners of MOON systems, the MiND control device can become the remote control for the entire
system. These functions will also be available for Android in a future firmware release.
The MiND control application is of course free and available from the Apple App Store as is the dedicated
iPhone app. Setup is incredibly easy and assuming you already have music on a computer or NAS drive,
the product is effectively plug & play. All that is required is a connection to your home network and Hi-Fi

The future of music playback
The MiND technology will initially be available in the stand-alone MOON 180 MiND, allowing streaming
from the library, with a very high quality digital output signal, which can be sent to a DAC for playback.
However, the technology will continue to grow and become incorporated into future MOON products,
providing a complete solution for easy and intuitive music playback, differentiating it from other available
streaming devices.
The first product to use this technology will be the new MOON 380D Digital-to-Analog Converter, which
will be offered with MiND technology as an internal option. A future press release on this product will follow
very soon.
Future support will include the following items:

Dedicated MiND website

MOON UPnP server software

Android compatibility

Firmware updates for legacy MOON products

HD channel functionality for internet radio
